Another year is going to end, too soon isn't it? I still have many more things in my mind that I want to accomplish but the clock is ticking down fast. 2013. A year full of ups and downs, I don't want to label it as a good year or a bad year either. Well, let's break it down further in the next few paragraphs.
Floorball
The biggest highlight of this year is my floorball "career", which I could really notice a very drastic improvement as a person both on and off the court. The picture above is taken in January, 1 month after I swapped from being a forward to goalie. I got instilled in the IVP squad as a backup goalie and I only got to play one game. That game wasn't a full game either. We attained a bronze medal for the competition.
After IVP concluded, I continued training hard as I was relatively new to the goalie position. With much guidance from Iman, my mentor, I competed in Singapore's Division 3 Floorball League under NYPenguins, our school's representative team. It was a really great experience for me and my team even though we had a very weird season form. We managed to escape relegation.
Shortly after the Division 3 season concluded, I got scouted into a Division 2 team, Knights FC. Being the youngest player in the team, I had to prove myself worth to be in this team full of talent legends. I have learnt so much from them in the Division 2 season which is still ongoing, from floorball tips and tricks to life "hacks".
With the constant training, my coach decided to put me as the first choice goalie. It was pretty shocking for me, since I had less than a year of experience. As we entered the POL-ITE competition, we had the most inexperienced squad. We had no national players while other schools had at least one. We finished 5th but we gave every school a hard fight. This competition made me some new friends, from national players to random fans at the stands. I was also asked to join the national team trials but I refused due to the amount of commitment I'm trying to juggle. Overall, I would love to improve my standard of playing and develop consistency.
Outside of floorball, I have many things to strike off my bucket list. Buying a GoPro camera, helping a complete stranger, meeting an online friend in person and many more. Also, there are many setbacks but I'd like to take that as a lesson, to not care about it but also to never forget about it. I'd like to open myself up more to new experiences and just step out of my comfort zone. With that in mind, I hope not to fall victim to any form of abuse. When you start to be nice to people, they might abuse you.
To end off this post, I'd like to thank you for taking your time off your day to read this and I would like to wish you all the best for your future, merry christmas and a happy new year! Let's hope 2014 would bring to you something extraordinary. God bless you.
It's been a long time since I updated my blog. I've been busy with school and stuff like that. Projects, Projects and more Projects! After I've completed one, another one comes! It's tough but fun, getting to know more people in NYP and also working with them is a great experience.
I'm telling you about projects but I didn't tell you what I actually did. Okay, here goes, I had a Communication Skills project where we had to do a skit on communication barriers, what breaks conversations down and act it out. It was fun, doing the most random thing you can do, impromptu style.
The next one was a Personal Development powerpoint presentation on a SMART Goal I intend to achieve, which I randomly chose. And then a presentation of a topic of your choice with a group, but hardcopy version. Fun times discussing!
Upcoming, a Conflict Management presentation with my classmates. We have to address the conflict and come up with solutions to solve it.
Next up, I had an Analog Electronics Project, it's a module actually. We have 3 projects in total, we're now at the 3rd one. The first one was just soldering wires onto a copper board to make your name, class and NYP on it. The second one was kind of difficult, I had a circuit, supposed to light up the Green LED when in bright light and White LED lights up in dark surroundings. Best experience ever! And I had to solder transistors, capacitors, resistors, switches, LEDs and all that cool stuff you can find on electronic gadgets. Once I completed everything, I tested it and none lighted up. And it was a short circuit at the power source input.... Tested it again, green LED lights up forever and white LED doesn't light up at all. Looked through the circuit for about a day and couldn't manage to find the problem. I handed it to my lecturer to keep it for me and come back the next day to figure it out. While I was troubleshooting, my classmate nudged into me and my hand had a sudden burnt feeling. Next thing you know, the transistor that was freaking hot was short circuited. I solved it just like that and wow, it's just amazing to get it working. It's like magic!
Next project for AE Project is a Portable Karaoke System, no designing of circuits, just putting in the components and make it work. Difficult though, because there are so much things to solder onto the board. Pair work! It's going to be a hectic semester, with projects and exams coming up soon. Sorry if I don't have time to spend with my friends, it's just freaking busy. I better head to bed soon....
Trust. Another simple word with a complex meaning.
It's something we need to strengthen relationships between each other, be it boyfriend-girlfriend, friends, family, colleagues or teammates.Without us, there's no trust. When you lose trust, you lose everything: communication, happiness, care, love. I've been observing over the course of my entire life, about how trust affects relationships and how lack of trust complete demolishes relationships.
Have you ever seen best friends become total strangers after a conflict and lack of trust? Have you ever seen relationships fail because of lack of trust? Have you ever seen people getting sacked from their job for the lack of trust in their colleagues? Have you ever seen sports teams lose due to lack of trust?
It's everywhere. I am guilty of it. I get jealous easily, it's just that, I don't have any reassurance, especially if I really like you. But I may be a nobody to like someone so beautiful and popular huh? I'm not perfect, I just want to be myself, be loved for myself, who I am. I'd do anything to gain trust, as long as it's not something dirty and disgusting, there's a limit because I have my own self-respect. Come on, losing friends due to lack of trust, it's like so common in my life, I question what I do wrong. Why am I like this? I don't know. If I had the chance to start my life all over again, I'd live it differently. But I'm given one chance, so I'll just suck it up and go with the flow. I'd love to start my broken friendships afresh but I guess trust is just not there. I'm so sorry.
"Trust. It takes years to build, but seconds to destroy."
How many times have you been happy about yourself? How many times have you been sad over something little? How many times did you sacrifice your happiness for others? How many times did you destroy others' happiness for your own? How many people have you spread your happiness to?
I swear happiness is a complex emotion. You could be the happiest person on Earth but then the very next moment, you lose all of it and become suicidal. We used to be so happy about everything, we didn't care about what we wore, how we looked like, I missed those times. I didn't have to go out of my house with the fear of judgemental people. It's just so difficult to impress people and your happiness decreases because of your tremendous drop in self-esteem.
I'm guilty of just losing it, all my happiness, all my positivity towards life. It's just difficult to control all my frustrations, but from time to time, I'll try to work on it. It's freaking horrible to look all sad and then your friends are there, "Hey! Tell me what's wrong?" and you sit there, smiling at them because you'd rather not explain it. It's like, my world is crumbling down on me bit by bit, slowly diminishing all happiness from me, and all I seek for is just small little signs of happiness to reboot my life and replenish my motivation for something, which in return will bring back huge boosts of happiness on a long run. But, I guess we are more and easily depressed now compared to back then, our carefree life.

Today's a very sad day for all the metalheads in the world as frontman of Suicide Silence, Mitch Lucker, passed away in a tragic road accident. All my condolences for Mitch's family.
Dear Mitch,
If I could tell you how much you've made an impact on my life, I would be so happy to do so. I was basically in a depressed mental state of mind because of my upcoming national exams. So, one day, about a week before the national exams, I searched YouTube for some new metal songs to listen to and I somehow came across "Suicide Silence". Dude, I swear I love your voice man. Nobody can ever replace it. And your tattoos are wonderful too. Upon hearing "You Only Live Once", I felt that, why should I waste my time being depressed when I only live once? Thanks man. Well, I ended up fucking up my exams but it's okay, I rather have an inspiration than motherfucking grades. So Mitch, do me a favour and make a new song called "You Only Live Twice" without the help of your band members, but Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix and all the awesome people up there in the heavens. You'll be missed.
Sincerely, A Suicide Silence fan.
"Push your care, push your burden aside, erase everything inside and leave just one thing on your mind. YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE SO JUST GO FUCKING NUTS!"
Since it's November tomorrow, I've decided to blog my #NovemberWishes! Well, I'll just get the ball rolling.
#NovemberWishes
1) Happiness - I just want to be happy most of the month in November and since it's my birthday month, I'll have extra reasons to be happy! Be it having fun at training or just relaxing at home!
2) Learn something new - Be it something minor like learning how to play the guitar or something major like learning about the small little components that makes your gadgets work.
3) Make new friends - Be it on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube or whatever, I just want to expand my social circle and discover more wonderful people, people that genuinely care for you and motivate you when you're down and out. Note to self: Never take advantage of these nice people.
4) Make use of my own discretion - Observe every day situations, find alternatives if possible, weigh out the priorities and put it into action! I want to do more of that.
5) My birthday! - Simply just wish me via Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, text or call. Don't need to give me fancy presents, just acknowledgement will do. But I still accept presents! Hehe.
I hope it rains in November so I can sing November Rain by Guns'N'Roses.
Till the next blog post, ciao!

I guess nobody ever reads this blog anymore. It's okay though, I'm just typing out my feelings without hurting others. Please read this post with an open mind because it's just what I feel, and I may be wrong about it. Or maybe just a twisted point of view of things.
PEOPLE. They're everywhere! You're part of it. You get offended by them, cry because of them, get high because of them, go crazy because of them and love them too. "Be thankful for those who've left an imprint of them in your life, positive or negative, because they can be benefits." Yes, I came up with that. I'm not a wise old man or anything, I just observe things from my point of view and just put myself in their perspective. Generally, I just dislike the Singaporean way of life, selfish mentality, even though having a selfish mentality is good to the extent that you'd never want to lose, always want to be on the highest rank at the workplace and all that stuff but I can't stand it when it's brought to the public. You may have heard about people pushing and shoving for seats on the MRT, putting tissue packets to reserve seats and all that nonsensical actions we've done, it's just so embarrassing when foreigners come in and all we show to them is our selfish attitude. I've noticed, whenever I'm in front of the queue for the train, usually during peak hours, some random adult or old person would just stand in the middle and just hasten up into the train. I mean, why can't you let people go out before entering? Logically, you need to empty something in order to put more things in it! Putting that aside, I'll talk about the positive things about people!
Positivity is a good thing, it builds self-esteem and rejuvenates happiness! I really got to thank the many people who made me happy every single day through their words and/or actions! Shine the spotlight on this wonderful lady who I shall not reveal the name. She's the sweetest girl I've ever met. Sweeter than KOI's 100% sugar level. I've never spent my time on the phone before, well, mainly I use it for important stuff but never had I make use of my phone to speak out my feelings to someone. It's really a great feeling though, but I'm just socially awkward. Anyway, she such a nice person. That type of person where everyone takes advantage of, but no, I've learned through the sour memories of my life and I'll never take her for granted. I haven't met her in real life yet though... it would be interesting. Okay.
Till the next time I suddenly find inspiration to blog again, CIAO!

My perspective of Pokemon and what I think about people of your age or even older playing that game
"@AyulAzwan: @failedfallacies your perspective of pokemon and what do you think about people of your age or even older playing that game ?"
Good topic by Azrul to blog about! Thanks very much.
Pokemon. I mean who doesn't love Pokemon? It's such an old game where you get all the nostalgia of playing it when you were young and you're still gonna play it. I do play Pokemon right now, but not that often already. Pokemon isn't a childish game! Don't you miss sitting in front of the television and singing the theme song? I bet you do. Even though Pokemon isn't real, it's the best cartoon/game ever invented, even though the graphics sucked big time. Can you imagine if you play Pokemon with your FIFA 12/NBA 2K12/COD graphics? Insanity.
What I think of people my age or older playing Pokemon?
THEY ARE AWESOME PEOPLE. AWESOMEPEOPLE_95/94/93/92/91/90......... HAHAHAHAHA. But you know what's more awesome? People my age or older playing Pokemon, not on the computer with the emulators but on Gameboys itself! Classic.
"@muhammadmutasim: @failedfallacies Talk about your school life ah! Haha. You are tempting me to revive my dead blog too. Lol!"
Great suggestion by Mutasim for my blog revival post! You should revive your blog too. :)
Well, here it goes.
I couldn't go to Singapore Poly because of my atrocious grades, so I went to Nanyang Poly because I didn't like Temasek Poly that much, Ngee Ann Poly's too far and Republic Poly was my last resort. But thank God I went to NYP.
How's NYP so far? Well, apart from the lack of fun facilities, I have to say that it's better than my secondary school: the always budget Damai. Even though there's a lack of canteens, places to sit, the long walk from Yio Chu Kang MRT, the school is still awesome.
Apart from facilities, I wanna say that the atmosphere in the school is great! Great classmates, great friends. Aircon in classes... Well, actually I hate aircon when it's too cold. And lectures, tutorials and labs are great places for learning.
Lectures - Sit in a hall filled with about 100 people.
Tutorials - Like a normal lesson in secondary school but with half the number of people because my class has only 21 people.
Labs - Hands-on with your classmates.
And what I'm studying right now?
Digital Electronics, Electric Circuits, Engineering Math, English, Physics, Thinking & Problem Solving Skills, Programming Techniques and PCB Design. 2 extra compulsory modules: Astronomy and Globalisation & Internationalisation.
I'll give a brief description of what I'm studying for each module!
Digital Electronics - If you could take a look in your phone, it's made up of integrated circuits, yeah that's what I'm studying in this module.
Electric Circuits - Secondary School's electricity topic, where you learn about circuits and assemble them with 9V batteries to make a lightbulb light up... Yeah, more complex stuff, learning direct current, alternating current and use a $20000 digital oscilloscope to measure an A.C. current.
Engineering Math - The name says it all. It's like A Math in secondary school.
Physics - Similar to the one in secondary school, learning about force, momentum and newton's laws. Thinking & Problem Solving Skills - Name says it all. Given ridiculously easy tests and a project to assemble a working circuit board and design the layout.
Programming Techniques - Learn to make working computer programs like a wage calculator, table of powers using different coding techniques. My project is to make a working Tic Tac Toe program.
PCB Design - PCB stands for Printed Circuit Board. Well, we design circuit boards, learn wire wrapping, use our hand tools to solder components on the board.
Astronomy - Learn about the place beyond Earth, the galaxies, the stars. Globalisation & Internationalisation - Learn about how the world developed through many different ways in many different ways.
That's as brief as it gets. Although there are many lessons to attend, I find the timetable quite relaxed compared to secondary school.
Mondays - 8am to 4pm Tuesdays - 1pm to 4pm Wednesdays - 8am to 12pm Thursdays - 10.10am to 6pm Fridays - 8am to 5pm
Now, I wanna talk about my CCA!
My CCA is floorball. For those of you who don't know what it is, google it! Quick tempo game, accurate passing and pinpoint accuracy of shots, that's what it's all about.
Training dates? Wednesdays and Saturdays.
People get turned off by the fact that you have to go back and train on a Saturday. But it's really useful because it's the only day where you aren't tired from school or doing projects or studying. I'm not very good in floorball, but I'll strive hard to get into the team and participate in competitions. So far, trainings have been fun and it really develops my knowledge of floorball. Many won't believe that my coach is a young guy, playing for the national team but hey, floorball is a new sport, thus the young age of coaches and players. Well, that's basically all I want to say for my CCA.
Projects and studying for common tests have taken away my time for doing stuff like blogging and even playing my PS3. And my school term seems short, it's like, 9 weeks of school, 2 week break, 9 weeks of school, 2 weeks of exams, 6 weeks break. End of semester. Also, what I learn this semester will be totally different from next semester, well, it's good and bad at the same time, good being you don't have to waste a lot of time in your life studying the same subject, and bad being you have to learn a lot in a short span of time. It's stressful, and sometimes stress makes me do stupid things, like talk gibberish and even wasting money on chocolates.
On non-serious matters, I really wanna expand my social circle in NYP, and maybe get a girlfriend on the way! -sidetracks to personal life- Nobody actually believes that I've never had a girlfriend in my entire life, really. I have been a kiddy-looking boy, with curly hair and big glasses, all I wanted was someone... Someone I can call "mine", someone that I can talk to about all my problems, someone that I'll be willing to travel across Singapore just to see her, someone that I'll lend a listening ear to. OKAY that's enough. -back to NYP life- I don't want to make enemies though, but it doesn't hurt to make a few because a person with no enemies probably has many fake friends.
Well, that's about all I have to say about my NYP Life. I hope you've enjoyed reading it actually, and I appreciate it. Have a great day ahead! :)
